2. Location Data & Background Tracking

WaitRide collects precise or approximate location data from your mobile device to enable core services.

• For Riders: We collect location data when the app is running in the foreground (app is open and on-screen) to find nearby drivers and set pickup points.
• For Drivers: We collect location data to enable trip tracking, route calculation, and nearby ride discovery even when the app is closed or not in use (background location). This background collection is essential to ensure drivers can receive ride requests and that trips are accurately billed while navigating.

Drivers must explicitly grant background location permission in the app to stay online and receive requests. You can disable location tracking at any time in your device settings, but this will prevent you from using the driver portal's core features.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used to:

• process ride bookings and driver requests
• match riders with drivers
• provide real-time tracking and notifications
• improve platform performance and user experience
• ensure safety, fraud prevention, and compliance
• communicate important service updates

How to Delete Your Account

To request the deletion of your account and associated data, please follow these steps:

2. Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request - [Your Full Name]".
3. Provide your registered phone number or email address for verification.

Data Deleted: Upon successful verification and processing, we will delete your profile information, ride history, and saved preferences.

Data Retention: We may retain certain information (such as transaction records) where required by Rwandan law for tax, legal, or auditing purposes for a period defined by local regulations.
